One rep max calculator
Estimate your one rep max (1RM) from a set you have done, for example 5 reps at 100 kg. The tool averages the Epley and Brzycki formulas, shows Lombardi too, and gives a table of weights at 50 to 100 % of your max. Free, in your browser.
How to calculate your one rep max
- 1Choose kg or lb
- 2Enter the weight you lifted and how many reps you did
- 3Read your estimated 1RM and the percentage table
- Your estimated 1RM and a table of weights by percentage.
What you get
- An estimated 1RM.The average of Epley and Brzycki, with Lombardi shown next to them.
- A percentage table.Weights from 50 to 100 % of your max, with the reps you can expect.
- Nothing leaves your device. The sum runs in your browser. No account, no upload.
What you can do
- Enter the weight lifted and the reps, from 1 to 30.
- See your 1RM as the average of the Epley and Brzycki formulas.
- Compare the three formulas: Epley, Brzycki and Lombardi.
- Get a table from 100 % down to 50 % in steps of 5 %, with the weight and the reps you can do at that load.
- Work in kilograms or pounds.
Good to know
- The estimate is most reliable up to about 10 reps. At higher reps it drifts.
- The formulas are rough. Technique, fatigue and the lift itself change the real max.
- Use a spotter or safety bars if you test a real one rep max.
- The reps column is a guide and comes from the Brzycki formula turned around.
Questions
How do I calculate my one rep max?
Enter the weight and the reps of a hard set. The tool applies the Epley and Brzycki formulas and takes their average.
How accurate is a 1RM calculator?
It is a good guide, best with sets of up to 10 reps. A real max test can differ.
What weight should I train at?
Use the percentage table. Each row shows the weight at that share of your 1RM and about how many reps it allows.
Is my data kept?
No. The sum runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
