Running pace calculator

Work out your running pace, finish time or distance from the other two. The running pace calculator works in kilometres or miles, shows your speed in km/h and mph, and prints split times for every kilometre or mile. Free and online.

How to calculate your running pace

  1. 1Choose what to work out: pace, finish time or distance
  2. 2Pick a race or enter a distance, then your time
  3. 3Choose kilometres or miles
  4. 4Read the result and the split table
  5. Your pace, time or distance, with splits.

What you get

  • Three ways round.Give any two of pace, time and distance, and the tool finds the third.
  • Splits included.A table lists the time at every kilometre or mile for an even pace.
  • Nothing is uploaded. The sums happen in your browser.

What you can do

  • Solve for pace, finish time or distance.
  • Pick 1 km, 1 mile, 5K, 10K, a half marathon, a marathon or your own distance.
  • Switch between kilometres and miles. The tool starts in miles in US English browsers.
  • Read the pace per km and per mile, the speed in km/h and mph and the finish time.
  • See predicted times for 5K, 10K, a half marathon and a marathon from the same effort.

Good to know

  • Write times as 25:00 or 1:45:30. Anything else gives an error.
  • Splits and predictions assume an even pace. The predictions use Riegel's formula.
  • Predictions show only when the distance is at least 0.8 km.

Questions

How do I calculate my running pace?

Divide your time by your distance. 50 minutes for 10 km is 5:00 per km.

How long will a 10K take at 5:30 per km?

Choose "Finish time", pick 10K, enter the pace 5:30 and read 55:00.

Can I use miles?

Yes. Switch "Distance in" to miles. The pace is then per mile, and both are always shown.

Does it store my runs?

No. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
