Activity analyzer

Analyze a workout from a GPX, FIT or TCX file: distance, moving time, pace, climbing, splits per kilometre or mile, heart-rate zones, cadence and power, all with charts. Nothing is uploaded, your browser does the sums.

How to analyze a GPX, FIT or TCX workout

  1. 1Drop your GPX, FIT or TCX file in, or click to choose it
  2. 2Pick kilometres or miles
  3. 3Type your real max heart rate to set the zones
  4. Numbers, splits, zones and charts for one workout.

What you get

  • Nothing is uploaded.Your workout is read and calculated by your browser, on your own device.
  • No map is loaded. The route is drawn as a line, so no map service sees where you went.
  • Every sensor in the file.Heart rate, cadence and power show up as soon as the file has them.

What you can do

  • See distance, moving time, elapsed time, average and max speed or pace, elevation gain and loss, and the lowest and highest point.
  • Read a table of splits for every kilometre or mile, with moving time, pace or speed, height change and average heart rate. The fastest full split is marked.
  • See how long you spent in each of five heart-rate zones, calculated from your max heart rate.
  • Colour the route by pace or speed, heart rate or elevation, or leave it in one colour.
  • Read average and max cadence and power, and see charts of pace or speed, heart rate and elevation over the distance.

Good to know

  • The zones start from the highest heart rate in the file. Type your real max heart rate to get zones that fit you: they are 60, 70, 80 and 90 percent of it.
  • Without times in the file there is no pace, no moving time and no zones. The tool says so.
  • Moving time leaves out stretches slower than about 1.8 km/h, and climbs under 2 metres count as GPS noise.
  • It opens one workout at a time. To combine files, use the GPX merge tool first.

Questions

Which files can I analyze?

GPX, TCX and FIT files from watches, bike computers and apps such as Garmin, Wahoo, Coros, Strava and Zwift.

Is my workout uploaded?

No. The file is read and analyzed in your browser. It is not sent to us or anyone else.

Can I see my splits in miles?

Yes. Switch the units to miles and the splits, pace and distances follow.

Why are my heart-rate zones off?

By default the highest value in your file stands for 100 percent. Type your own max heart rate and the five zones are recalculated.
