Polygon counter
Count the triangles, vertices, meshes, materials and textures of a 3D model, mesh by mesh. Drop in a GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, PLY or FBX file, see the totals and the model's size, and save the table as CSV. Free, in your browser.
How to count polygons in a 3D model
- 1Drop a GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, PLY or FBX file in
- 2Read the triangle total and the facts about the model
- 3Check the table per mesh, or save it as CSV
- A triangle count, a table per mesh and a CSV.
What happens to your files
- Nothing is uploaded. The model is read and counted by your browser, on your own device.
- Per mesh, not just a total. Each mesh lists its triangles, vertices, parts and materials.
- Many formats, one count.GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, PLY and FBX are counted the same way.
What you can do
- Get the triangle count as one big number, with the number of vertices, meshes, materials, textures, nodes and animations.
- See the model's size as X × Y × Z and the file size.
- Read a table with every mesh's triangles, vertices, parts and materials, and one with each texture's size, type and bytes.
- See the extensions the file uses, such as Draco compression.
- Save the per-mesh table as a CSV file for a spreadsheet.
Good to know
- Triangles are counted, not quads. A model made of quads shows the triangles they split into.
- When parts of the model are repeated, a line also shows the triangles drawn with repeats.
- For a glTF with separate files, drop the .bin and textures with it.
Questions
How do I count the polygons of a 3D model?
Drop the file in. The tool shows the triangle count right away, the vertices and a table per mesh.
Does it count triangles or polygons?
Triangles, which is what graphics cards draw. A quad counts as two triangles.
Which files can I count?
GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, PLY and FBX.
Is my file uploaded?
No. It is read and counted in your browser, on your own device.
