Frequently asked questions

Do client files leave our computers?

Supported tools process files on your own computer, and files are not uploaded for processing. This removes one risk; it does not replace what you agreed with your client.

Does it replace our design software?

No. ToolRecipe does the file jobs around it: converting, shrinking, renaming and setting files out for delivery.

Can every colleague use the same steps?

The recipes above already give everyone the same steps today. For your agency we set up your own recipes, with your order of steps and your settings.

Can freelancers follow our delivery rules too?

The recipes on this page open in any current browser, so a freelancer can follow the same steps. Fixed naming and size rules for your agency are something we set up with you.

Does this replace our own security policy?

No. Processing on your own computer removes one risk: files going to outside services to be processed. Your own security rules still apply.

Where is ToolRecipe hosted?

In the EU. The site runs on servers in Austria, and ToolRecipe is run from Vienna. The tools work on your own device, so your files don’t go to us or to anyone else. The privacy policy lists what we store, where, and which services we use for it.

Do we need to install anything?

No. Your team opens a web address. Once the page has loaded, it also works offline.

What does it cost?

For companies we agree a price that fits the size of your team and what we set up for you.

Can it run on our own server?

Ask us. Because the tools do their work in the browser, running it on your own server is possible.
