Questions
How does the inflation calculator work?
It multiplies your amount by (1 + rate) for every year. For the other direction it divides by the same factor.
What is the difference between the two results?
The first line is what you will pay later for what costs your amount now. The second is the buying power of your amount in today's prices.
Which rate should I use?
That is your choice. Many people try the long-term target of their central bank, and a higher rate for comparison.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. The calculation happens in your browser.
