Questions

How do I calculate VAT from a gross price?

Divide the gross price by 1 plus the rate (1.20 for 20%). That gives the net price, and the difference is the VAT. Choose "Amount is gross (remove VAT)".

Which Austrian VAT rates are there?

20% is the standard rate, 10% and 13% apply to certain goods and services. Which one fits your product is for you or your tax adviser to decide.

Can I use it for German or Swiss VAT?

Yes. Pick 19% or 7% for Germany, 8.1% for Switzerland.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. The calculation happens in your browser.
