How to use the calculator

What you get
- Answer as you type.The result shows under the line before you press anything.
- Percent like a pocket calculator.200 + 15% gives 230, and 200 × 15% gives 30.
- Earlier sums stay.The last ten are listed. Tap one to bring it back.
What you can do
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide, with brackets in any depth. Use × and ÷ or * and /.
- Use ^ for powers (2^10), √ or sqrt for roots, and π for pi.
- Type sin, cos and tan, which work in degrees, and log, ln and abs.
- Write the decimal sign as a point or a comma. The answer follows your language's number format, up to 12 decimals.
- Tap a kept sum to put its answer back into the line and keep going with it.
- Press Escape or tap C to clear the line, and ⌫ to delete one character.
Good to know
- Percent follows pocket calculator logic: after + or − it means a share of the number before, otherwise it is divided by 100.
- A missing closing bracket at the end is added for you. Other incomplete sums show "Not a complete sum yet".
- Division by zero and other impossible sums show a dash and cannot be kept.
- Only the last ten sums are listed, and they are gone when you close the page. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Questions
How do I add a percentage to a number?
Type 200 + 15% and you get 230. The percent is taken from the number before it.
Does sin work in degrees or radians?
In degrees. sin(90) gives 1, and sin(30) gives 0.5.
Is the calculator free?
Yes. It is free and needs no account.
Can I use the keyboard?
Yes. Type into the line and press Enter to keep the answer. The on-screen keys are for phones and tablets.
