Crontab.guru-style tester

Test a crontab line like on crontab.guru: type a cron schedule and see the next 10 run times at once, in your time zone or any other. A sentence says in plain English when it fires. It runs in your browser, so your schedules stay private.

How to test a cron schedule

  1. 1Type your cron expression into the box
  2. 2Check the sentence and the list of next runs
  3. 3Change the time zone, or show 5 or 25 runs
  4. The next run times, with UTC and how far away each is.

What you get

  • Next runs in one table. The default list is the next 10, with 5 and 25 as options.
  • Your zone, or any zone.Check what the schedule means for a server in UTC and for your own clock.
  • Nothing is uploaded.Your expression is read by your browser.

What you can do

  • Test the 5-field format, with ranges, lists, steps and names like MON or JAN.
  • Use @hourly, @daily, @weekly, @monthly and @yearly shortcuts.
  • See the next 5, 10 or 25 runs, each with the time in that zone, the time in UTC and how far away it is.
  • Click an example chip to start from a common schedule.
  • Copy the run times as text.

Good to know

  • The explanation sentence is in English on every language version.
  • Only the 5-field format is supported, so seconds and years are rejected.
  • Day of month and day of week together mean either one, as in standard cron.
  • A schedule such as 30 February never fires. The tool says so instead of listing runs.

Questions

How is this different from crontab.guru?

It has the same idea and runs in your browser with no requests. It is a separate tool, not crontab.guru.

Why does my job run on days I did not expect?

When both day of month and day of week are set, cron runs on either one. Use * in one of them to avoid it.

Which time zone does cron use?

The server's. Pick that zone in the list to see the real times.

Is my schedule sent anywhere?

No. It is evaluated in your browser.
