What you can do
- Convert PDF to JPG and save the result as a file on your device.
- Between Word, OpenDocument, Markdown, HTML and plain text, headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, bold and italic come across.
- A PDF made from a Word file keeps the fonts, sizes, colors and spacing of the original, set in free fonts of the same width (Calibri, Cambria, Arial, Times, Courier).
- Take the text out of a PDF and carry it into Word, Markdown, HTML or plain text.
Good to know
- Made for fixed pages that look the same everywhere. Taking text out of a PDF gives its words without the layout; a scanned PDF holds only images and has no text.
- A photo format with lossy compression, so files stay small. A JPG of a PDF page is a picture of it: the text can no longer be selected.
- Pictures do not come across when you convert between document formats. Headers and footers are not carried over to PDF yet.
- When you convert a PDF to a text format, only its text comes across. A scanned page has no text, so the converter tells you there is nothing to take over.
- The page has no upload, so there is nothing to delete afterwards.
