Percentage calculator
A free percentage calculator with three questions in one place: what is X percent of Y, X is what percent of Y, and the percent change from one number to another. Fill in the two numbers of a row and the answer appears at once.
How to calculate a percentage
- 1Pick the row that matches your question
- 2Type the two numbers
- 3Read the answer on the right
- The answer for each row, updated as you type.
What you get
- Three answers at once. All three rows work side by side, so you can compare.
- Updates as you type. There is no button to press.
- Increase or decrease.A change gets a plus or minus sign in front.
What you can do
- Find a part: "What is (%) of" gives X percent of Y, for example 15 % of 80 is 12.
- Find a share: "is what % of" tells you what percent the first number is of the second.
- Find a change: "Change from" and "to" give the percent change, with a plus for a rise and a minus for a fall.
- Use decimals, such as 7.5 or 0.25, and negative numbers.
Good to know
- The change is measured from the first number. Going from 50 to 75 is +50 %, but going from 75 to 50 is -33.33 %.
- A row shows a dash until both of its numbers are filled in.
- A change from 0 has no percent, because it cannot be divided by zero.
- Nothing you type leaves your browser.
