OKLCH to RGB
Convert OKLCH to RGB online, free: type an oklch() color and get red, green and blue from 0 to 255, for code, canvas drawing or any program that wants RGB. oklch(0.6 0.1 30) becomes rgb(180, 104, 92). Vivid OKLCH colors beyond sRGB are brought inside it the CSS Color 4 way, so their hue stays as it was.
How to convert OKLCH to RGB
- 1Type L, C and H into "Color", for example 0.6 0.1 30
- 2Or paste a whole value such as oklch(60% 0.1 30)
- 3Copy rgb() from the big line, or HEX from the list
- rgb(R, G, B) with whole numbers from 0 to 255
What sets it apart
- Hue stays put.A too vivid color loses chroma, not its hue, so the hue you typed is the hue you get in RGB
- A note when it matters.Under the swatch you see whether the color had to be moved into sRGB
- Nothing is sent anywhere. The conversion runs in your browser, on your own device
What you can do
- Turn OKLCH into rgb() with three whole numbers, plus HEX, HSL, HSV and HWB in the list
- Type the lightness as 0.6 or as 60%, the chroma as a number or a percentage (100% is 0.4)
- Leave out the hue for a gray by writing none, as CSS allows
- Choose a color with the color picker: the field shows it as oklch(), the RGB value follows
Good to know
- RGB here is sRGB with 8 bits per channel. OKLCH can describe colors outside it: oklch(0.9 0.25 120) becomes rgb(204, 242, 0), with the same lightness and hue but less chroma
- Lightness without a percent sign must lie between 0 and 1. 60 is refused, write 0.6 or 60%
- Transparency after a slash, as in oklch(0.6 0.1 30 / 50%), is read but left out
Questions
How do I convert OKLCH to RGB?
Type the three OKLCH numbers or paste oklch() into the field. The big line shows rgb() straight away, for example rgb(225, 183, 92) for oklch(0.8 0.12 85). Click "Copy" to take it.
Why does the RGB color look less vivid than in my browser?
On a wide gamut screen a browser can show oklch() colors beyond sRGB. RGB with 0 to 255 cannot hold them, so the tool gives the nearest sRGB color and tells you in a note.
Can I get decimals in the RGB result?
No. RGB is written with whole numbers from 0 to 255. If you need more precision, the list also shows XYZ with five decimals.
Is my color sent to a server?
No. The tool calculates in your browser, and no request is made with your color.
