What you can do
- Read Excel (.xlsx, .xls), OpenDocument (.ods), Numbers, CSV, TSV and JSON.
- Write Excel (.xlsx), OpenDocument (.ods), CSV, JSON or PDF.
- Pick one sheet of a workbook, or convert all of them. The "Sheet" list appears when the file has more than one.
- Open a CSV with semicolons, as German Excel writes it. The separator is recognized, and decimal commas such as 1.234,56 become numbers.
- See the first rows of the result before you save.
Good to know
- Formulas stay in Excel and ODS files. CSV, JSON and PDF get the last calculated value.
- All sheets to CSV gives one file per sheet; all sheets to JSON gives one object with a key per sheet.
- A PDF is a plain table of each sheet, set in landscape when there are more than six columns.
- A JSON file is read as a table: nested objects become columns named like a.b.
Questions
Are my spreadsheets uploaded to a server?
No. The files are read and converted by your browser on your own device. They are never sent to us or anyone else.
Do I need Excel?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so you need no Excel or LibreOffice.
Can I open a Numbers file?
Yes. Add the .numbers file and convert it to Excel, OpenDocument, CSV, JSON or PDF.
What happens to formulas?
Excel and OpenDocument files keep them. CSV, JSON and PDF get the last calculated value of each cell.
