Good to know

  • This is a viewer only. You cannot edit or change the document here.
  • Fonts that are not on your device are replaced by free fonts of the same width, such as Calibri, Cambria, Arial, Times and Courier look-alikes. Line breaks can differ a little from Word.
  • Pictures, headers and footers do not come across yet. Text, headings, lists, tables, bold and italic do.
  • One file at a time. The older .doc format is not supported, so save it as .docx in Word first.

Questions

How can I open a DOCX file without Word?

Drop it onto this page. It is shown as pages in your browser, so you do not need Word, Office or any app.

Is my Word file uploaded?

No. The file is read and drawn by your browser on your own device. It is never sent to us or anyone else.

Will the document look exactly like it does in Word?

Close, but not always identical. Fonts, sizes, colours and spacing are kept, but pictures, headers and footers are not shown, and look-alike fonts replace missing ones.
