USDZ viewer

Open a USDZ file in your browser, without an iPhone or a Mac. USDZ is the package Apple uses for AR models, and it bundles the geometry and textures in one file. Turn the model, check its materials and size, and play any animation. Nothing is uploaded.

How to view a USDZ file online

What happens to your files

  • Nothing is uploaded.Your USDZ model is read by your browser, on your own device.
  • No Apple device needed.The USDZ is read in your browser, on Windows, Linux, Android or Mac.
  • Textures are inside.A USDZ carries its images, so the model shows with them.

What you can do

  • Turn, zoom and move around the model. Wireframe shows the triangles, Grid helps with scale.
  • Read meshes, triangles, vertices, materials and textures, and the size in metres or centimetres, plus inches.
  • Play the animations the package holds and see their length.
  • Check a model before you use it in AR, for example from the USDZ for AR Quick Look tool.
  • Drop a USDZ from Reality Composer, Blender or a converter and see whether it opens.

Good to know

  • The viewer reads USDZ with the open loader. Variants and some advanced USD features are not applied.
  • If textures do not arrive, the viewer stops waiting after 20 seconds and shows the model without them.
  • USDZ packages nested inside another USD layer are not read.

Questions

Can I open a USDZ on Windows or Android?

Yes. Your browser reads the file, so no Apple device is needed.

Is my USDZ uploaded?

No. Your browser reads the file on your own device. It is never sent to us or anyone else.

Why is the model grey or missing details?

Some USD materials are built from features the viewer does not apply. The geometry and the plain colours still show.

Can I convert USDZ to GLB?
