What you can do

  • Cut the start and end with two handles. A preview plays only the part you keep, and "Start here" and "End here" set a handle at the frame you are watching.
  • Rotate by 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise or 180°.
  • Play at 0.5× (slow motion) or 2× (faster).
  • Remove the sound from the video.
  • Open MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, M4V, 3GP and TS files.

Good to know

  • The window tells you before you save whether the video is re-encoded. A new speed always re-encodes it, which is slower.
  • Rotating a WebM or MKV also re-encodes it. In MP4 and MOV the turn is stored as a flag, so it is quick and lossless.
  • The sound changes pitch with the speed.
  • The result is an MP4, or a WebM if the original was WebM or MKV, and it is named with "-edited".
  • It uses your graphics chip and works best in desktop Chrome or Edge.

Questions

How do I trim a video online for free?

Drop it in, drag the two handles to the part you want and click "Save video". With only a trim the picture is copied, so there is no quality loss.

Can I trim and rotate in one go?

Yes. Set the handles and the rotation, and one file comes out with both changes.

Does editing lower the quality?

Not for trim, mute or rotating an MP4. Only a speed change, or rotating a WebM, re-encodes the picture.

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is edited in your browser on your own device.
