- A list of keys such as sk_ followed by random characters.
What you get
- Secure randomness. Each character comes from the browser's crypto random generator, not Math.random.
- Made on your device.Keys are never sent to a server, so no one else has a copy.
- Ready in bulk.Make up to 500 keys at once, one per line.
What you can do
- Make API keys of 4 to 256 random characters. The default is 20.
- Make 1 to 500 keys in one go.
- Copy all keys with one button.
- Get new ones with another click, as often as you like.
Good to know
- Every key starts with sk_. The length you set counts the random part after the prefix.
- The random part uses A to Z, a to z and 0 to 9. There are no symbols.
- The tool makes the key but does not store it or register it anywhere. Save it in your own secret store.
Questions
Are the keys really random?
Yes. They use crypto.getRandomValues, the secure random generator built into your browser.
Does anyone else see my keys?
No. They are made in your browser and never uploaded.
How long should an API key be?
The default of 20 random characters is a reasonable start. For anything sensitive, go longer, for example 32 or more.
Can I change the sk_ prefix?
No. The prefix is fixed. Use the random string generator if you want keys without a prefix.
