Mouse click test
Mouse test online: click with every button, double-click and turn the wheel to see that each one registers. The test also warns when one button sends two clicks too fast, the typical double-click problem of a worn switch. Free and in your browser.
How to test your mouse
- 1Click in the test area with each button
- 2Double-click and turn the wheel both ways
- 3Check the counts and look out for a warning
- A count per button, the wheel and your double-clicks
Why test here
- Runs in your browser.Every click is read by the page on your own device
- Nothing is sent.No click goes to a server, and no result is stored
- Starts right away.Open the page and start clicking
What you can do
- Count the clicks of the left, middle (wheel), right, back and forward buttons
- Count wheel turns up and down separately
- Count double-clicks, so you can see whether your system takes them
- Get a warning when a button sends two clicks closer together than a person clicks on purpose, a sign of a worn switch
- Use the right, back and forward buttons freely: they don't open a menu or leave the page while in the test area
- Set all counts back to zero with "Start over"
Good to know
- Some mice send their extra buttons as keys or not at all. Then nothing lights up, even if the button works
- The double-click warning counts how often it happened. A warning after a real double-click is normal, one after single clicks is not
- On a touchscreen without mouse or trackpad, the touchscreen test is the better choice
Questions
How do I know if my mouse has a double-click problem?
Click one button slowly, one click at a time. If the test warns that the button sent two clicks a few milliseconds apart, the switch is likely worn.
Can I test the back and forward buttons?
Yes. In the test area they are caught, so they count without taking you to another page. Mice that send these buttons as keys don't show here.
Does the scroll wheel test count each step?
It counts every wheel event the browser sends, up and down separately. How many events one notch sends depends on your mouse and system.
Is anything sent while I test?
No. The clicks are counted in the page on your device, and nothing is stored.
