Gamepad tester
Test your controller in the browser: connect a gamepad by cable or Bluetooth, press a button, and watch every button, trigger and stick react live. The gamepad tester warns about stick drift and can make the gamepad rumble where your browser allows it.
How to test a controller
- 1Connect your gamepad by cable or Bluetooth
- 2Press any of its buttons while this page is in front
- 3Press every button and move both sticks
- 4Let the sticks rest and look for a drift warning
- Every button, trigger and stick shown live, with a drift check
What happens to your input
- Runs in your browser.Your browser reads the gamepad directly, on your own device
- Nothing is sent.Button presses and stick positions never leave the page and are not saved
- Starts right away. There is no app to install
What you can do
- See every button light up, with a bar for how far it is pressed, handy for the triggers
- Watch both sticks move and read their position as numbers
- Get a stick drift warning when an axis reads past 0.1 while no button is pressed
- Make the gamepad rumble with "Rumble" in browsers that allow it, such as Chrome and Edge
- Test more than one gamepad at a time, each on its own card
Good to know
- Browsers show a gamepad only after one of its buttons is pressed while the page is in front
- Buttons get Xbox and PlayStation names when the browser knows the gamepad. Otherwise they are numbered
- The "Rumble" button only appears where the browser can make the gamepad vibrate
- The tester shows only what the browser reports about the gamepad
Questions
How do I check my controller for stick drift?
Let both sticks rest and don't press any button. If an axis reads past 0.1, the tester shows a warning with that axis and its value.
Why doesn't my controller show up?
Press one of its buttons while this page is in front: browsers only show a gamepad after that. If it still doesn't appear, check the cable or Bluetooth connection.
Does it work with Xbox and PlayStation controllers?
Yes, and with other gamepads your browser reports. Known ones get Xbox and PlayStation button names, others show numbered buttons.
Why is there no rumble button?
Not every browser can make a gamepad vibrate. The button appears only where it can, for example in Chrome and Edge.
