What you can do
- Read JSON, YAML, CSV, TSV, JSON Lines, .env and query strings.
- Write all of those, plus Markdown tables and HTML tables.
- Choose 2 or 4 spaces of indent for JSON and YAML.
- Swap the two formats with the "Swap" button to convert the other way.
- Open a semicolon CSV, as German Excel writes it: the separator is recognized.
Good to know
- A table (CSV, TSV, JSON Lines) cannot become one .env file or one query string. Those hold a single object of names and values.
- A query string can be pasted as a whole URL: everything before the question mark and after the hash is ignored.
- A name that appears twice in a query string becomes a list.
- Markdown and HTML tables can be written but not read.
Questions
Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. It is read and converted by your browser on your own device. It is never sent to us or anyone else.
Does converting JSON to CSV flatten nested data?
A list of objects becomes one row per object. Each key becomes a column.
Why can I not turn a CSV into a .env file?
A .env file is one list of names and values, and a CSV is many rows. Convert a single JSON object instead.
Can I convert JSON to YAML?
Yes. Pick JSON as the input and YAML as the output, and choose the indent.
