Email to PDF
Turn emails into PDFs in your browser: .eml, Outlook .msg, Apple Mail .emlx, whole mailboxes (.mbox) and winmail.dat, as Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail and Gmail save or export them. The PDF shows the sender, the recipients, the date, the text and the pictures. Nothing is uploaded.
How to convert an email to PDF
- 1Drop your email files or a mailbox in, or click to choose them
- 2Choose whether the attachments go inside the PDF too
- 3Click "Make PDF" and save the PDF, or the ZIP for many mails
- Each mail as a PDF, and its attachments as files
What happens to your files
- Nothing is uploaded. The mails are read by your browser on your own device, so private letters and contracts stay with you
- Nobody is told.Pictures that sit on the internet are not loaded, so no sender can see that you opened a mail
- Any mail program.Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Gmail: what they save or export is read here, without them
What you can do
- Convert .eml, .msg, .oft, .emlx and winmail.dat, and mails saved as .mht, .html, .txt or .rtf
- Turn a whole mailbox (.mbox from Thunderbird, Apple Mail or Google Takeout) into one PDF per mail in a ZIP, or into one PDF with all of them
- Keep the pictures that travel inside the mail, the formatting of HTML mails and the quoted replies of a thread
- Save each attachment on its own, all of them as a ZIP, or put them inside the PDF
- Read Chinese, Japanese, Korean and the old character sets of Windows and Mac mail programs
Good to know
- The kind of file is told from what is inside it, so a file with a wrong or missing extension still works
- Outlook data files (.pst, .ost) and Outlook for Mac archives (.olm) can't be read yet. Drag the mails out of the program and add those
- Apple Mail exports a mailbox as a folder: add the file called "mbox" inside it
- Pictures on the internet are left out and counted in a note at the top of the PDF
Questions
How do I save an email as PDF without Outlook?
Save or download the mail as a file (.msg, .eml) and drop it here. It is turned into a PDF in your browser, with no mail program needed.
Is my email uploaded to a server?
No. The files are read and turned into PDFs by your browser, on your own device. They are never sent to us or anyone else.
Can I convert a whole mailbox?
Yes. Export it as .mbox from Thunderbird, Apple Mail or Google Takeout and add it. You get one PDF per mail in a ZIP, or tick the box for one PDF with all mails.
Are the attachments in the PDF?
Their names and sizes are listed under the subject. You can save them as files, or tick the box to put them inside the PDF as well.
Can it open winmail.dat?
Yes. A winmail.dat on its own or inside a mail gives its files and its text back.
