How to view a FBX file online

What happens to your files
- Nothing is uploaded.Your FBX model is read by your browser, on your own device.
- Animations play here.Each clip in the FBX gets a button with its length, so you can check a rig or a walk cycle.
- Size from the file.FBX records its own unit scale, and the viewer uses it for the size line.
What you can do
- Turn, zoom and move around the model. Wireframe shows the triangles, Grid helps with scale.
- Play the animations stored in the file, one at a time, and see how long each runs.
- Read meshes, triangles, vertices, materials, textures and skinned meshes, which are the parts bound to a skeleton.
- Drop the textures with the .fbx, or the whole folder, so the model shows with its images.
- See the size as width × depth × height, with inches or millimetres next to it.
Good to know
- FBX is a closed Autodesk format. The viewer reads what the open loader understands, and some special effects of a scene may not show.
- Textures that are not dropped with the model are listed as missing. The model shows without them.
- Many FBX files keep their images outside the file. If the model looks plain, drop the images too.
Questions
Is my FBX uploaded?
No. Your browser reads the file on your own device. It is never sent to us or anyone else.
Can I preview the animation of a character?
Yes. Every animation clip in the FBX has its own button. Press it to play and again to stop.
Why does my FBX show without textures?
The images are often stored next to the .fbx. Drop them together with the model, or drop the folder.
Can I convert FBX to GLB?
Yes. The FBX to GLB converter is in the related tools. GLB is smaller and opens nearly everywhere.
