World clock
World clock: see the time in the cities you care about next to your own. Each clock shows the date, the offset from UTC, how far it is ahead of or behind you and whether summer time is on. Pick one time in one city to see it in all the others, for example to plan a call.
How to use the world clock
- 1Type a city, a country or a time zone
- 2Pick it from the list to add its clock
- 3Turn on Compare a time to set one moment for all clocks
- The local time, date and offset of every city in your list
What you get
- Summer time included. The rules come with your browser, so New York, Sydney and Vienna change on their own dates
- Odd offsets too.India at +5:30, Nepal at +5:45 and the Chatham Islands at +12:45 show the right minutes
- One time for everyone.Slide the time in one city and every other clock follows, with a mark for working hours and night
What you can do
- Add up to 30 clocks from about 100 well-known cities, or any time zone your browser knows
- Find a city by its name in English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish or Italian, or by its country
- Switch between the 24-hour and the 12-hour clock
- See each clock on a dial as well. From 22:00 to 7:00 the dial turns dark blue and shows a moon
- See when the clocks of a city go forward or back in the next 60 days
- Copy all times as text to paste into an invitation or a chat
Good to know
- Your own clock comes first and uses the time zone your device is set to. The page does not ask for your location
- The list of cities and the hour style stay in this browser. Remove a city with the cross on its card
- Time zones change now and then by law. Your browser's data is updated with the browser, so keep it up to date
Questions
Does the world clock handle daylight saving time?
Yes. Each clock uses the summer time rules of its time zone, so it changes on that place's own date. The card says when summer time is on and when the next change comes.
How do I find a good time for a meeting across time zones?
Tick Compare a time across the clocks, pick the city and the time, and move the slider. Every card shows the time there and whether it falls in working hours, in the evening or at night.
Why is India 5 hours and 30 minutes ahead of UTC?
India uses one time zone for the whole country, set half an hour off the hour. Nepal, parts of Australia, Iran and Newfoundland use such offsets too.
Can I add a place that is not in the list?
Yes, if it has its own time zone. Type its name or the zone's name, for example Ulaanbaatar or America/Argentina/Cordoba.
