- 1Type your time entries, one per line
- 2Set the hourly rate and the billing unit
- 3Choose the rounding and read the fee
- Billed time, the fee and the total with VAT
What you get
- Worked out on your device. The numbers you type are processed on your device, not uploaded
- Six minutes or a quarter hour.Units of 6, 10, 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or to the minute with no rounding
- Two ways to round up.Round every entry up to full units, or only the total. You see the difference at once
What you can do
- Enter time as minutes, such as 25, or as hours and minutes, such as 1:30, one entry per line
- Bill in tenths of an hour, in quarter hours or in other units, with time always rounded up to full units
- Round up every entry on its own, or add the entries first and round the total once
- Add VAT at the rate you type. Leave the field empty and no VAT is added
- See recorded and billed time per entry in a table, and save it as a CSV file
Good to know
- The fee is billed time times the hourly rate. It is rounded to cents once, half a cent up, and VAT is worked out on that fee
- No VAT rate is filled in for you: fill in the rate that applies to you
- Whether you may round every entry or only the total is a matter for your fee agreement and the rules of your profession. Not tax or legal advice
- A line that is not a time is named by its number, so you can fix it. Up to 1,000 lines
Questions
How do I bill in 6-minute increments?
Each entry is rounded up to the next full 6 minutes, a tenth of an hour. Seven minutes become 12 minutes, or 0.2 hours.
What is the difference between rounding each entry and rounding the total?
Entries of 7, 25 and 70 minutes are 114 billed minutes when each is rounded up to 6-minute units, and 102 minutes when only the total is rounded.
How do I convert minutes to decimal hours?
Divide the minutes by 60. The tool shows billed time both as hours and minutes and as decimal hours, for example 1 h 54 min and 1.9 h.
Are my time entries sent to a server?
No. The entries are processed on your device, not uploaded.
