Alarm clock
Online alarm clock: set a time, give it a label and pick a sound. It rings in this browser tab at that time, with a notification if you allow one. Keep the tab open and the device awake: a closed tab or a locked phone cannot ring. Use it for a short nap, a reminder at your desk or a cooking break.
How to set an alarm
- 1Choose the time, and add a label and a sound if you like
- 2Pick days to repeat it, or leave them empty for one time
- 3Press Add alarm and keep this tab open
- The alarm rings in this tab at the time you set
What you get
- Several alarms.Up to 20, each with its own time, label, sound and days to repeat
- Rings on time. The page checks the real clock every second, so a slow background tab still rings
- Snooze.Snooze for 5, 9, 10 or 15 minutes, or stop the alarm with one key
What you can do
- Set alarms with a label, for example Tea or Call Mum
- Repeat an alarm on weekdays, at weekends or on the days you pick
- Choose a beep, a chime or a gentle sound that gets louder
- Get a notification when the alarm rings while you are in another tab
- Keep the screen on while the page is open, where your browser allows it
- Save your alarms to your calendar, for a reminder that also comes when the page is closed
Good to know
- The alarm rings only while this page is open. Close the tab, and nothing rings
- When a phone screen locks, iPhone and iPad stop the page, and Android often does too. To wake up in the morning, use your phone's own alarm
- Browsers play sound only after you click on the page once. Adding an alarm counts as that click
- An alarm found more than 30 minutes late, after the computer slept, is shown as missed and does not ring
Questions
Does the alarm ring when the tab is closed?
No. The alarm runs in the page, so the tab has to stay open, though it can be in the background. If you want a reminder with the page closed, save your alarms to your calendar and your calendar app reminds you at that time.
Will it wake me up on my phone?
Only if the screen stays on and the phone stays plugged in. When the screen locks, iPhone and iPad stop the page, and Android often does too. For mornings, your phone's own alarm is the safe choice.
Why did my alarm ring a little late?
Browsers check background tabs less often. The page looks at the real clock as soon as it runs again, so the delay is usually under a minute.
Are my alarms saved?
Yes, in this browser on this device. They are not sent anywhere. Another browser or a private window starts empty.
