QR code generator
Make a QR code for a link, any text or a Wi-Fi network, free and online. Choose the colors, the error correction and the size, then download it as PNG or SVG. The code is made on your device, so what you type is not uploaded.
How to make a QR code
- 1Choose what it opens: a link or text, or a Wi-Fi network
- 2Type the link or text, or the network name and password
- 3Download the PNG or SVG
- A QR code as PNG or SVG.
What you get
- Made on your device.Your text or password is turned into a code in your browser, not sent anywhere.
- PNG or SVG.PNG at 512, 1024 or 2048 px, or an SVG that scales to any size.
- Your colors.Pick the code and background colors, plus the error correction.
What you can do
- Make a code for a link or any text. A link opens when scanned, plain text shows as text.
- Make a Wi-Fi code: network name, password and security (WPA / WPA2 / WPA3, WEP or no password), with a hidden network option.
- Set the error correction to Low, Medium, High or Highest. Higher levels scan even if part of the code is covered.
- Choose the dark and the light color. The preview updates as you type.
- Names and passwords with accents or emoji work.
Good to know
- Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background scans best. A light code on a dark one may fail in some apps.
- A longer text makes a denser code. If it is too long for one code, shorten it or choose a lower error correction.
- A link needs to start with https:// to open as a link when scanned.
- The code isn't tracked and never expires: it holds the text itself.
Questions
Is the QR code free, and does it expire?
It is free, and it never expires. The code contains your text itself, not a link to a service.
Is my text or Wi-Fi password uploaded?
No. The code is made in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
PNG is fine for screens and documents. SVG scales without blur, which is better for print and posters.
Can I make a QR code for my Wi-Fi?
Yes. Switch to "A Wi-Fi network", type the name and password and choose the security. Phones can join by scanning it.
