Extract URLs from text
Collect every link from a text, an email or a page you copied, and get them as a list with one URL per line. Free, no sign-up, and the text is read in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
How to extract URLs from text
- 1Paste the text that contains links
- 2The URLs appear in the result, one per line
- 3Copy the list
- Each link once, one per line.
What you get
- Each link once.A URL that appears several times is listed once, in order of first appearance.
- Text around it is dropped.Only the link itself comes out, without the sentence it sat in.
- Stays on your device.Your text is searched in your browser and is never uploaded.
What you can do
- Find every http:// and https:// link in a long text.
- Gather the sources from an article, the links from a newsletter or the URLs in a log.
- Keep paths, query strings and fragments, so a full address like https://example.com/page?id=3#top comes out whole.
- Copy the list, or sort it with Sort lines alphabetically.
Good to know
- Only addresses that begin with http:// or https:// are found. A bare www.example.com or example.com is not.
- A link ends at the first space, quote mark, angle bracket, closing bracket or closing parenthesis, so a bracketed link comes out clean.
- A full stop or comma straight after a link is part of the match. Remove it by hand if needed.
- Links are not opened or checked, only found.
Questions
How do I extract links from text?
Paste the text. Every http and https link is listed once, one per line.
Why was www.example.com not found?
The tool looks for links that start with http:// or https://. Add the prefix, or find and replace www. with https://www. first.
Are duplicate URLs removed?
Yes. Each URL appears once, in the order it first shows up.
Does it check whether the links work?
No. It only picks the addresses out of the text. It never visits them.
