How to turn a list into comma separated text

Good to know

  • The separator is always a comma followed by a space. Other separators cannot be chosen. Use Find and replace text on the result if you need a semicolon.
  • Items are not put in quotes. For quoted items use Add quotes and commas to list.
  • Items that already contain commas are not escaped, so they look like two items afterwards.
  • Duplicates stay. Remove duplicate lines first if you want each item once.

How do I turn a list into a comma separated line?

Paste the list with one item per line. The result is one line with the items separated by commas.

Does it remove empty lines?

Yes. Empty lines are skipped, and spaces around each item are trimmed.

Can I use a semicolon or another separator?

Not in this tool, it always uses a comma and a space. Replace the commas afterwards with Find and replace text.

Can I turn it back into a list?

Yes. Comma separated to list splits the line into one item per line again.
