What you get

  • Nothing is uploaded.Your lines are processed in your browser on your own device.
  • Only the start of a line changes.Digits in the middle of a line are never touched.
  • Result as you type.Updates with every edit, with no button.

What you can do

  • Strip a number at the start of each line, with a following dot, bracket or colon, such as 12. or 12) or 12:.
  • Cope with numbers that have spaces in front, as in a right aligned listing.
  • Clean code snippets, lyrics, transcripts and lists copied from websites or documents.
  • Keep every other line as it is, one result line per input line.

Good to know

  • A line that really starts with a number loses it, for example "2024 was a good year". Check such lines in the result.
  • Numbers in square brackets, like [1], are not recognised.
  • Leading spaces on each line are removed with the number, so indentation is lost.
