Reverse text

Reverse text: the characters of your whole text are written back to front, so "hello" becomes "olleh". Good for puzzles, palindrome checks and mirrored writing. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

How to reverse text backwards

  1. 1Type or paste your text into the Input box
  2. 2The Result box shows it back to front
  3. 3Click "Copy" to take the reversed text
  4. Your text, character by character reversed.

What you get

  • Nothing is uploaded. The text is reversed in your browser and goes nowhere.
  • Reversed as a whole. The very last character comes first, line breaks included.
  • Result as you type.It changes with each letter you type, with no button.

What you can do

  • Write a word, a sentence or a long text backwards.
  • Check whether a word is a palindrome by comparing input and result.
  • Reverse more than one line at once: the line order flips and each line is reversed too.
  • Copy the reversed text with one click.

Good to know

  • To reverse only the order of lines use "Reverse lines". To reverse only the order of words use "Reverse words".
  • Characters are reversed one by one, so letters with combining accents or emojis made of several parts can fall apart.
  • Reversing twice gives your original text back.

Questions

How do I reverse text online?

Type or paste the text into the Input box. The Result box shows it backwards at once. Click "Copy" to take it.

Does it reverse the order of the words or the letters?

The letters, across the whole text. To flip the word order only, use "Reverse words".

What happens with several lines?

The whole text is reversed as one string, so the last line comes first and each line is written backwards.

Is my text uploaded?

No. It is processed in your browser, on your own device.
