Convert to aLtErNaTiNg cAsE

Turn any text into aLtErNaTiNg cAsE, the mocking-meme style where every other letter is a capital. Paste your text and the result appears at once, ready to copy. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

How to make alternating case text

  1. 1Paste or type your text into the input box
  2. 2Read the aLtErNaTiNg result below it
  3. 3Click the copy button and paste it anywhere
  4. Your text with every other letter capitalized.

What you get

  • Result as you type. There is no convert button: the output updates with every key.
  • Starts with a small letter. The first letter is lowercase, the second uppercase, and so on.
  • Nothing is uploaded.Your text is converted in your browser and never sent anywhere.

What you can do

  • Alternates letter by letter, starting with a lowercase letter: "hello" becomes "hElLo".
  • Counts letters only. Spaces, digits and punctuation stay in place and do not break the pattern.
  • Works with accented letters such as é, ü or ñ, and with other alphabets.
  • Handles any length of text, including several lines.

Good to know

  • The pattern carries on across words. If a word ends on a capital, the next word starts with a small letter.
  • The first letter is always lowercase. If you want the other way round, use iNVERSE cASE on the result or start your text with a throwaway letter.
  • The tool does not change the words themselves, only the case of their letters.

Questions

What is alternating case?

It is text where small and capital letters take turns, like "aLtErNaTiNg". It is often used for sarcasm and meme captions.

Do spaces count in the pattern?

No. Only letters count, so the pattern runs smoothly across spaces and punctuation.

Is my text sent to a server?

No. The conversion runs in your browser on your device. Your text is not uploaded or stored.

Can I get a capital first letter instead?

Not directly. The result always starts lowercase. Convert it with iNVERSE cASE to swap every letter.
