Convert to path/case

Convert text to path/case: lowercase words separated by slashes, like docs/user/first/name. Use it to sketch folder paths, URL paths and route names from plain words. Free, in your browser, nothing uploaded.

How to convert text to path/case

  1. 1Paste or type your words, one phrase per line
  2. 2Read the path/case result below
  3. 3Copy it with the copy button
  4. Lowercase words separated by slashes.

What you get

  • One result per line. Each input line is converted on its own, so a whole list works.
  • Runs as you type. The output updates with every key, no button needed.
  • Nothing is uploaded.Your text is converted in your browser and never sent anywhere.

What you can do

  • Lowercases the text and puts a slash between words: "Blog Posts 2024" becomes blog/posts/2024.
  • Converts each line separately, so a list of section names becomes a list of paths.
  • Keeps digits and letters of any alphabet.

Good to know

  • Words are found by splitting on anything that is not a letter or digit, so punctuation is dropped. A name that already has capitals, like myVariable, is not split at them.
  • No slash is added at the start or the end. Add one yourself if your path needs it.
  • Every word becomes its own folder level. To keep several words in one folder name, join them first with kebab-case.

Questions

What is path/case?

Words separated by slashes, like a folder path or a URL path.

Is the result a valid file path?

The characters are safe, but check the result on your system, since names and length limits differ.

Can I get a path with hyphens inside folder names?

Not in one step. Convert the words to kebab-case first, then join the names with slashes yourself.

Is my text sent to a server?

No. The conversion runs in your browser on your device. Your text is not uploaded or stored.
