Convert to Capitalize Each Word

Capitalize the first letter of every word in your text and leave the other letters exactly as you typed them. Paste your text and the result appears at once. Free, in your browser, no upload.

How to capitalize each word

  1. 1Paste or type your text into the input box
  2. 2Check the result: each word now starts with a capital
  3. 3Copy it with the copy button
  4. Your text with every word starting in a capital.

What you get

  • Other letters stay as they are.Only the first letter of each word changes, nothing else.
  • Result as you type. There is no convert button: the output updates with every key.
  • Nothing is uploaded.Your text is converted in your browser and never sent anywhere.

What you can do

  • Turns "the quick brown fox" into "The Quick Brown Fox".
  • Works across several lines and paragraphs, and keeps your line breaks and spacing.
  • Handles accented and non-Latin letters, such as "élan" to "Élan".

Good to know

  • A word starts after a space or line break. A word after a hyphen or apostrophe is not capitalized: "well-known" becomes "Well-known".
  • Capitals you already typed stay. "iPhone" stays "IPhone" and "NASA" stays "NASA". Use Title Case if you want the rest made lowercase.
  • Small words like "of" and "the" are capitalized too.

Questions

What is the difference from Title Case?

Title Case lowercases the rest of every word first. Capitalize Each Word leaves the other letters as they are.

Does it lowercase the rest of the word?

No. "hELLO wORLD" becomes "HELLO WORLD". Convert to lowercase first if you want clean results.

Does it work with other languages?

Yes. It capitalizes the first letter of any alphabet that has capitals, including German umlauts.

Is my text sent to a server?

No. The conversion runs in your browser on your device. Your text is not uploaded or stored.
