GPX, FIT and TCX repair kit
One workbench for activity files: open GPX, FIT and TCX, then merge, crop, split, reverse, simplify or fix the times, and save the result in any of the three formats. Heart rate, cadence, power and timestamps stay. Nothing is uploaded.
How to repair a GPX, FIT or TCX file
- 1Drop your files in, in any mix of GPX, FIT and TCX
- 2Pick a mode: Merge, Crop, Split, Fix times and more
- 3Save as GPX, TCX or FIT
- A repaired activity in the format your app wants.
What happens to your files
- Nothing is uploaded.Every step runs in your browser, on your own device.
- Seven modes, one file.Change what you do without opening the file again.
- Sensors stay on the points.Heart rate, cadence, power and temperature are kept wherever the format has room.
What you can do
- View an activity with its track, elevation and heart-rate profile and the main numbers.
- Merge several files into one in time order, keeping gaps as pauses and filling sensor gaps from overlapping files.
- Crop the start or end by time or distance, for example to hide where you live, or split an activity in two.
- Fix the times: shift for a time zone mistake, set a new start, or fill missing times from a speed or pace.
- Reverse a route, or simplify a track with a tolerance in metres.
- Chain the steps with "Keep this and continue", step back with "Undo", and save as GPX, TCX or FIT.
Good to know
- TCX and FIT need a time on every point. A route without times can be saved as GPX only, until you use "Fix times".
- GPX has to leave out points that have no position, and the page says how many.
- The saved FIT file holds record data: time, position, altitude, heart rate, cadence, power and temperature.
- A damaged FIT file is read as far as it goes, and a warning names it.
Questions
What can I fix in a GPX file?
You can merge, crop, split, reverse and simplify it, correct its times, and convert it to TCX or FIT.
Can I convert between GPX, FIT and TCX here?
Yes. Open a file in any of the three formats and save it in any of the three. TCX and FIT need times on every point.
Will my heart rate and power survive?
Yes. They stay on their points through every mode and are written into all three formats.
Are my files uploaded?
No. They are read and saved in your browser, and never sent to a server.
