Unicode code points to text

Convert Unicode code points to text online: paste numbers like U+0048 U+0069 and get "Hi" back. It reads hex code points of four to six digits, with or without the U+ in front. Free, no sign-up, nothing leaves your browser.

How to convert Unicode code points to text

  1. 1Paste your code points into the input box
  2. 2Read the decoded text in the result box
  3. 3Click "Copy" to take it with you
  4. The text that your code points stand for.

What you get

  • Nothing is uploaded. The decoding runs in your browser, so your input stays on your device.
  • Updates as you type. The result follows every keystroke, with no button to press.
  • Works offline.Once the tool has been opened, it needs no connection.

What you can do

  • Turn code points such as U+0041 or 0041 back into the character they name.
  • Read any script and emoji, including code points above U+FFFF such as 1F600.
  • Accept spaces, commas or other separators between the numbers.
  • Create code points first with Text to Unicode code points.

Good to know

  • The input is read as hex, in groups of four to six digits. Write short numbers with leading zeros: 0041, not 41.
  • The "U+" is optional. Everything that is not a hex digit only acts as a separator.
  • A number beyond U+10FFFF is not a valid code point and gives an error message instead of text.

Questions

How do I convert Unicode code points to text?

Paste the code points into the input box, for example U+0048 U+0065 U+006C U+006C U+006F. The text appears in the result box.

Do I need to type U+ in front?

No. 0048 works the same as U+0048.

Why does 41 not work?

The tool looks for groups of four to six hex digits. Write it as 0041.

Is my input uploaded?

No. Your browser does the decoding on your own device.
